◊   Who We Are   ◊

The Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) is a denomination that formed in December of 1973.  When the mainline Presbyterian denomination began departing from its basic Christian doctrines, many of our churches decided it was time to separate and seek to form a new and more Biblical Presbyterian denomination.  The new denomination began with 250 congregations and 50,000 members.  Our denomination has grown to over 1300 churches and over 300,000 members.

The PCA is a denomination that holds to the great doctrines of the Bible as expressed in the historic creeds of the Christian Church.  We embrace the Westminster Confession of Faith, together with its Larger and Shorter Catechisms, as the clearest and most concise summary of Biblical truth.  The principles of the Protestant Reformation, especially Sola Scriptura-the Scriptures alone, continue to guide our teaching as we faithfully declare "the whole counsel of God" to our generation.

The PCA is a denomination that desires to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.  As we pursue that goal, we believe that we have a two-fold responsibility.  We must evangelize the lost by proclaiming the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ to every creature, and we must edify the saints by teaching them to apply the Word of God to their every day life.
